BARDEN LAKE

Brief description of fishery:

A large mixed fishery of around 25 acres, this gravel Pit has become a mecca for Carp Anglers. The head of large Carp is phenomenal as there are currently at least 50 plus twenties, 70 plus thirties, and a handful of forties. There are specimen Tench which have been recorded to 12lb 8oz and huge Bream in good numbers with 100lb+ bags recorded and individual fish to over 19lb. The large Roach and Rudd are more elusive, but dedication can produce spectacular results. One angler had thirty Roach in one session, three of which exceeded 2lb. Perch also show at times and will respond well to a noisy plug. Pike have been caught to over 30lb with a good head of twenty pounders present.
